EBRD Invests €105 Million in Serbia's Largest Solar-Thermal Power Plant to Boost Renewable Energy

In a bid to promote renewable energy and reduce reliance on fossil fuels, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is providing financing of up to €105 million ($109.5 million) for the development of a large-scale solar-thermal power plant in Novi Sad, Serbia. This significant investment is expected to have a substantial impact on the environment, reducing the district heating agency's natural gas consumption by approximately 29%. By supporting the growth of solar energy and thermal power, the EBRD is contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable future for Serbia. The project aligns with the country's efforts to increase its use of renewable energy sources, such as solar power, and decrease its carbon footprint. As Serbia continues to transition towards a more sustainable energy mix, investments like this solar-thermal plant will play a crucial role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting energy efficiency. With the EBRD's support, Serbia is taking a significant step towards a greener and more environmentally friendly energy sector, leveraging cleaner energy technologies to drive growth and development.
