Kuala Lumpur, May 9 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has conveyed his warmest congratulations to the Catholic community in Malaysia and globally on the historic election of Pope Leo XIV. In a statement released earlier today, Anwar expressed optimism that the new pontiff's leadership will foster greater understanding and collaboration between different faiths and cultures, particularly emphasizing shared values that resonate across communities.
