KOTA KINABALU: Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) information chief, Joniston Bangkuai, has strongly refuted recent accusations of disloyalty levelled against the party by Libaran Member of Parliament, Suhaimi Nasir. Bangkuai firmly asserted that PBS's actions and decisions are consistently driven by a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the interests of Sabah and its people.

The rebuttal comes in response to Suhaimi’s questioning of PBS’s loyalty, sparking a debate within Sabah’s political landscape. Bangkuai, in a clear and decisive statement, emphasized that PBS has a long and established history of championing Sabah’s rights and advocating for its development. He highlighted the party’s unwavering dedication to the state's well-being and its people’s prosperity.

“PBS’s direction and decisions are fundamentally guided by the best interests of Sabah,” Bangkuai stated. “We remain steadfast in our commitment to upholding the principles of fairness, justice, and progress for all Sabahans. Any suggestion to the contrary is simply unfounded and misrepresents the party’s core values and actions.”

Bangkuai further explained that PBS has always been a strong voice for Sabah within the national political arena, consistently pushing for policies and initiatives that benefit the state. He pointed to numerous instances where PBS has successfully advocated for Sabah’s needs, demonstrating the party’s proactive approach to representing the state's interests.

The ongoing discussion underscores the importance of clear communication and mutual respect within Sabah’s political ecosystem. Bangkuai urged all stakeholders to engage in constructive dialogue and refrain from making unsubstantiated claims that could potentially undermine the unity and progress of the state.

“We believe in open and honest communication, and we are always willing to engage in discussions that promote understanding and collaboration,” Bangkuai concluded. “However, we will not tolerate baseless accusations that seek to tarnish the reputation of PBS and its commitment to Sabah.”

The statement serves as a firm defense of PBS's integrity and reinforces the party's unwavering dedication to serving the people of Sabah. It highlights the importance of prioritizing the state’s welfare above all else in the political discourse.

This situation provides an opportunity for reflection on the dynamics of Sabah politics and the need for constructive engagement among political actors. It also serves as a reminder of the significance of upholding principles of fairness and transparency in public discourse.
