Heartfelt Farewell: Panda Lovers Flock to Zoo Negara to Bid Adieu to Fu Wa and Feng Yi
KUALA LUMPUR, May 18 – A touching scene unfolded at Zoo Negara this morning as approximately 40 devoted panda enthusiasts gathered early to bid a fond farewell to the beloved giant pandas, Fu Wa and Feng Yi. The pandas, who have captivated visitors and become cherished residents of the zoo since May 2014, are preparing to return to China.
The early arrival of fans demonstrated the deep affection and connection Malaysians have formed with these gentle giants. Many brought flowers, panda-themed gifts, and heartfelt messages to express their gratitude for the joy and wonder the pandas have brought to their lives.
“It’s so sad to see them go, but we’re happy they had a good time here,” shared one visitor, Sarah Lee, a long-time Zoo Negara supporter. “My children have grown up visiting the pandas, and they’ve taught us so much about conservation and the importance of protecting endangered species.”
