PETALING JAYA: Despite rising international concerns and travel advisories, five Malaysians – four students and one businessman – have chosen to remain in Iran, according to Foreign Minister Mohamad Hasan. The minister confirmed this during a recent press briefing, stating that the individuals have formally indicated their desire to stay in the country.

“We are aware of the presence of these five Malaysians in Iran. They consist of four students pursuing their studies and one businessman conducting business operations,” Minister Mohamad Hasan stated. “They have all signed a letter expressing their wish to remain in Iran at their own discretion, understanding the current circumstances.”

The Malaysian government, through its embassy in Tehran, continues to monitor the situation closely and is providing consular assistance to the Malaysians who have chosen to stay. This includes regular check-ins and updates on developments in the region.
