Kyiv, Ukraine - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has sharply criticized Russia's recent ceasefire proposal, dismissing it as an "ultimatum" designed to pressure Ukraine into unfavorable negotiations. "I am ready to speak with President Putin any day, anywhere, under any conditions," Zelensky declared. "And I am also ready to meet with President Trump. We believe that both leaders have a unique understanding of the challenges we face and could contribute to a peaceful resolution."

The announcement comes amid ongoing fighting in eastern Ukraine, where Russian forces have intensified their offensive in recent weeks. The conflict, which began with Russia's full-scale invasion in February 2022, has resulted in widespread destruction, displacement, and loss of life.
