Queensland captain Ali Brigginshaw echoed Hull's sentiments, stating, “The surface was definitely a factor. It was hard to move and get your footing. It wasn’t the conditions we want to play in, especially in a State of Origin match.”
The New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL) has confirmed that an investigation will be launched to determine the cause of the flooding and to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future. This marks the second time in as little as a year that such an investigation will be needed.
