Dear Eric,

I'm facing a dilemma regarding my cherished heirlooms. My daughter, embracing a 'minimalist' lifestyle, has shown no interest in inheriting them. It's disheartening to see these meaningful items, steeped in family history, potentially overlooked. I'm contemplating whether it's appropriate to consider passing them on to my step-grandchildren, with whom I share a close bond and believe would genuinely appreciate their value. While I'm not planning on going anywhere soon, I'd much prefer to see these treasures cherished rather than languishing in storage.
